For six years, the small family lived in the rented remise-styleworkshop building in Berlin-Zehlendorf, and kept imagining how nice it would be if they owned the two-storey building. And one day, this finally became a reality: by purchasing the property, they couldfinally implement their plans that had been brewing for so long.
The owners put emphasis on adapting the living space to their standards of sustainability and healthy living, which, among other things, meant replacing the stone floor with authentic-wood parquet. French herringbone pattern now covers 100 square metres, not only in the entrance area and the hallway, but also in the open living room with kitchen and dining spaces, as well as the guest and work rooms.
Formpark Rombico in Oak Farina colour was also laid with high precision on the stairs connecting the ground and upper floors. The brushed and oiled surface gives the parquet more character, highlighting its interplay with the lighting. In addition to the pleasant tactile features and the timeless design, its clear design language emphasises this cohesive manifestation of a dream to have their own home finally coming true.
